Monsters!
Every October I draw a monster a day
I usually use that year's Inktober prompts to inspire me. I've been doing it since 2015 and I've learned something very interesting - if you draw just one monster a day, for a month, and do that for over 10 years, then before too long you'll find you've drawn way too many monsters.
NOTE: I'm not very good at drawing, but that's PERFECT for drawing monsters because monsters are supposed to look weird and wonky and unique.
Here are October 2026's monsters so far:

1. The Goast
Obviously the Goast is part goat, part ghost. Less obviously it’s also part toast, so it’s scary, and loud, but also delicious with a number of toppings both sweet and savoury.

2. The Sand King
Remember that sandcastle you stomped on when you were 5? That was the home of the Sand Prince. Anyway he’s all grown up now and he’s looking for YOUR house so he can return the favour.

3. The Miniature Monster
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, many monsters have now shrunk down to a much more manageable size. They are completely portable and can even fit into your pocket. Just like a phone! Of course, they’re not very good for you, they can make your life very difficult, and they will tell you a lot of lies. And so will the monsters!

4. The Conscience Cactus
When you do something a little bit bad, you may feel a prick of conscience. When you do something REALLY bad, you’ll attract the attention of one of these spiky fellows who will help you feel ALL the prickles.

5. The Slapper
Hey fans of modern slang! When people say “watch out for that monster, it slaps!” they absolutely do not mean it’s exceptionally satisfying or cool.

6. A Yogre
Like an ordinary ogre, but bendier.

7. P.P. Panic
This leaky sprite appears at the exact moment you suddenly and catastrophically realise you need a wee IMMEDIATELY . It’s the moment of epeephany if you like.

8. The Stinky Invisible Fridge Goose
You open the fridge. Something in there stinks! But what is it? You search, and sniff, but you can't find the culprit. That's because it's this fowl-smelling see-through beast. You can’t see it but my gosh it HONKS.

9. The Buttering Ram
Leaps from jar to jar leaving buttery little footprints all over your lovely jam. Also does peanut butter, marmite and the front of your shirt.
